Sound not working - Windwolf55x5 - 11-24-2017 The audio on my freeplay zero all the sudden stopped working. It doesn't work with headphones and the speaker just makes this buzzing noise when turned up all the way. RE: Sound not working - Flavor - 11-24-2017 The first thing to try is to unscrew the screws around the volume wheel. See if that helps at all. Sometimes, when there's extra pressure on the volume wheel, it can cause this sort of problem. Since not all shells are created equal, you may need to shave off a bit of plastic around the volume wheel if you can determine that it's causing the problem. Also, we recently had a builder find that there was something inside of his headphone jack (like a tiny piece of plastic). It was wedged in a way where it caused problems both with speaker and headphone output. If neither of those things help, then maybe it could be the solder points on the back of the Pi. Let me know. RE: Sound not working - Flavor - 11-28-2017 Hey Windwolf55x5, were you able to get your audio working? No I wasn’t, I tried loosing the screws and even taking the whole thing apart, but I’m still getting only static. Windwolf55x5 Does your headphone plug fully mate into the audio jack so it is fully flush with jack? Can you upload some photos of the back of the pi and the area of the audio jack? Did you change any settings (like audio settings in particular)? Did you switch to HDMI audio, by any chance? And then when I turned it back on later the sound wasn’t working. Now that I think about it I did let my little cousin play with it too that day, so he may have messed something up in the settings.(11-24-2017, 03:24 PM)Windwolf55x5 Wrote: The audio on my freeplay zero all the sudden stopped working. I went and switched it to auto and now it’s working again. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that earlier. So thanks a lot for the help, and sorry for the slow reply RE: Sound not working - Flavor - 12-01-2017 Oh, that's good news (in a funny way). I'm glad to hear that it's working fine again! |
