It is easily possible. You can play on the handheld, and then hotplug the HDMI to continue playing on the TV. We have some more info about HDMI at https://www.freeplaytech.com/support/freeplay-zero-cm3-hdmi/
You can also use a USB controller as player 2 if you like.

By the way, which size micro sd do you recommend for a 50 game library?
What are the limitations of capacity in the system itself? Can I throw at it a 128 micro sd? I would like to download KODI from RetroPie and play around with it.

I use 16GB for most of our stuff. I think you could easily do the math on the 50 games and see if they'd fit. If you had a 128GB card, it would likely be overkill for that. But if you wanted to do large video files and such or lots of box art or video snaps then things can fill up.
I have heard of some 128GB files having problems with Raspberry Pi systems. I think that's a small minority. I've also heard of people getting counterfeit SD cards that are like a small SD card that's been reconfigured to look like a large one. Just be aware.

I heard about this a year ago. Big thing. When people started to buy super cheap knockoffs from China, that actually look original to the eye. I believe in "you get what you pay for" when it comes to technology.
I even heard people use that phrase in some review videos for the Freeplay CM3, as they justify the very high price as there is nothing remotely comparable with it in the market. Which is true, other customized handheld projects although quite interesting, not at the same level.

You need to consider something, don't look at how many games you want to put in now but how many you may put along the time.
I made this mistake, I bought a 64gb at start and realise when putting PSX and Dreamcast games that was not enough.
Now I run on 128gb with around 100gb used.
If that can help, don't buy SD card from eBay/Amazon, if you want to go the "sure" way, buy it from a true computer hardware retailer, a trusted one. You will maybe pay it a little higher but at least, you will get a genuine one
