Link Cable Port Information
#1
Does anyone know of any technical docs for the link cable port on the NGPC? Perhaps a pinout diagram or a description of the protocol. I haven't been able to find anything on it.

I know that some guys have worked on this in the past, but I guess they have come and gone without publishing much.

There's a little pinout info here:
http://fuzzygamer.blog.com/2013/01/18/sp...ink-cable/ ( and http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic...=17&t=2234 )

As for the protocol, you might check out some of the emulator code. IIRC, Koyote did some link emulation.

There is also an official document covering the serial communications. It claims that the link port is a 19200bps, 8N1 serial link with CTS and RTS. I'm guessing it wouldn't be too difficult to figure out what's what on the pinout if you did a little scope work.

Personally, I haven't done any real work in this area.

By the way, based on the info I found/posted above, I think this is what you're _probably_ looking at (from a NGPC link cable).
