I think that the ones with 4 legs aren't too difficult to find. The ones with 2 legs (like we use for the new button option) are hard to find.

For my current project, the only place I can all the parts I need on a row is DigiKey, this switches can be found here as well.
The problem for me as a European customer is the order price : 50E (57USD) for free shipping plus 34E (38USD) for import duty. Sadly Farnell don't sell anything I need :/
For the 2 legs switches, I have seen many of these in Aliexpress but I am not sure about the actuation force.

I finally receive switches, hoping this will work as intended.

I also tried to get PS Vita 2000 joystick working without success (following this pinout : https://sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5363&start=20), at each time I noticed that carbon traces was scratches, I will take a look at PS Vita 1000 version with copper connector.

I think that this playlist shows how to connect the PSVita sticks. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...9F7QIjFQl4 I think they have the same pinout. Hipcat would probably know here: https://forum.freeplaytech.com/showthread.php?tid=4705

Already checked that out, I am pretty sure I am not using the right connector for carbon based contact (https://www.ebay.fr/itm/10Pcs-Bottom-Con...1639169208).
At this point I bought PS Vita 1000 Joystick but with same top as 2000 version : https://www.ebay.fr/itm/Joystick-POUR-PS...EBIDX%3AIT
Update: PS Vita 1000 Joystick work flawless.

Looking good! Have you tested them out yet to see how well they work being connected to the shoulder buttons like that? I am finishing up a new build now, and did the L2/R2 through the shoulder buttons again. This time I’m using clicky tacts for the L2/R2 to test out the feel. It would be great if your way works well because connecting them to the board is a little annoying to get them positioned correctly.

Sorry, I missed to post update :/
They work fine but the switches "ckicky" feeling is not that good for me, I think soft tacts should be great but you can only fit 6mm switches this way.
By security, you can bend the GBA trigger spring a little more to really avoid clicking the 2 switches at the same time.
I am working on a new build as well but still awaiting fr some components to arrive.

I think that looks quite good!
It's really hard for me to imagine what the feel would be like, but (at some level) you are so restricted by space that there may never be a perfect solution.

Some room can be created by cutting sides of the GBA button but at cost of part rigidity, in the best case could put a 8x8mm switch.
