interesting. I just tried it out.

I did a clean boot without any cartridge mounted; set the different options and clock; waited for neogeo pocket intro to play; escaped out of mess; restarted the emulator, and it took me straight to the neogeo pocket intro animation.

Which sequence of actions did you follow?
