New raspeberry PI Zero with WIFI - sixbras - 02-28-2017

Just to let you know that raspberry pi zero, including wifi is now available.

Could be a good option for this kit :

This is big news, actually. We will be looking closely at this.

I have one, I will hook it up and see what happens. From what I understand it's 99% the same but I did see somewhere that it's clocked at 1ghz by default. I'm also not sure what impact the wifi would have on the power requirements.

If you try it, please read through this first.

I think you have to get a specific image or kernel at the moment. I have not received my W yet, so I have not yet tested it.

If you want to try to fix the SD card to work on Pi Zero W, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvKHefzOTVc

And I think you can get the files from https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/tree/master/boot

I have not tried it yet, myself.

Okay, I got it working. I posted some info at https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/8556/raspberry-pi-zero-w/59 but it's not that straightforward to get the joystick working in the new kernel. It's not hard, but I plan to post a new SD image soon (this week). That should be a better fix for most people, anyway.
