Trouble shooting - DarkWind - 07-11-2017
So everything is plugged in right and I flashed the right image to the SD card and I only get a white screen and as soon as I press the power button I get a green light, but nothing else happens any suggestions? Also when I connect the HDMI to my tv nothing comes up either.

This is what it would usually act like if the Pi wasn't plugged in at all. I feel like the Pi itself isn't working (or making a proper connection).
Maybe send a photo of the "back" side of it.
The next thing I would try is to remove the Pi and plug USB power directly into the Pi with the HDMI also connected. What can you tell if you do that?
How did you flash the image file to the SD card? That could also be a problem. Does it act the same if the SD card is inserted or removed?

I used etcher to flash it and I think it might be the Pi, because it doesn't do anything when I plug it regularly to my tv and there is no green light on the Pi.

That is rather odd. Do you have another SD card or image that you could try? You could just try stock RetroPie image with just the Pi itself.
Or do you have another Raspberry Pi that you could try the card in?
There's also a possibility that it could be the micro USB cable or however you are powering it.
Also, I would recommend taking a wire cutter and cutting off the backside of the white battery plugs that stick out towards the LCD. You don't want them to contact the back of the LCD.

I have another Raspberry Pi on the way, will be here tomorrow so I will try with that one and see what the results are. I'm afraid I might have burnt the first Pi up with my soldering as it was my first time, but I'm not sure how likely that is.

I think that it's highly unlikely to die from soldering, unless you think that you really held the soldering iron on for a really really long time.
When you get the new pi, test it before you even try to solder anything.
Also, I assume you will need a new pinheader if the Pi is the problem

I did not test Pi before I started working on it so it might have just been bad, I didn't hold it for too long so maybe I'm just second guessing myself. This next I'll test first, also it comes with new pins, unless I need a certain one?

You do need a certain one, because they are a specific height and size. If you need new pins, I can send you a new header.

Ok so my first Pi does work, I had to install rasbian onto it, what should I do after that? Also it only works when it's plugged into my tv.
