Ps Vita / Nintendo Joy Con analog sticks - Hipcat - 09-27-2018

I test fitted a pair of PS Vita analog sticks last night. They are a FANTASTIC fit (if you don’t mind some extra work). They also look great, and I am sure they will play much better than the PSP 1000 sticks. I have some trouble wiring to the tiny ribbon cable. I managed to get 34 gauge magnet wire to stick and apparently function, but I don’t trust the connections. I’ve thought about buying some of the Vita button boards (right side) and trimming a breakout board from it, but it feels like a waste of money. I will try to make a kind of compression connector next to test. Does anyone know a good way to make these connections? Maybe soldering directly to the internal points of the analog analog?

Can you post some photos of the cabling you're talking about? Is it the same sort of ribbon connector that's used on the PSP3000 analog stick (except 6-pin)? If so, I think that you're looking for a 6-pin FPC breakout board.

This is just all out of the blue. I haven't actually researched what connector the PSVita uses, so this might be wrong, but look at these 3 links and you'll get an idea of what I'm thinking you might want.

The ribbon cable looks pretty much the same as the PSP 3000. Also, yes! Those little connectors look perfect! Thanks. I will check out which will fit for the Vita and also the Joy Con ribbon cables and test them out. I really liked the look of the Vita analogs in the test fit last night. The analogs I have only have 4 connections. I think they match the official 6 connection version though because I heard only 4 connections were ever used.
