Super slow games

Exclamation
Hey so i just put my FPZ together a few days back and been adding some games to the system like Mario Super Circuit for the GBA but i literately cant play Super Circuit due to this terrible frame drop as soon as i load past the menu screen.  Also my audio has been acting up so i think my speaker wire is cramped but I've found that most games for Atari 2600 and GBC and GBA are basically unplayable due to lag. I've upped my vram from 10mb (i dont know why it was set this low but idk) to 180 and i felt a slight improvement but still completely unplayable. Any thoughts? (And when i say unplayable i mean like single digit fps) Angry

The typical issue for GBA is that people don’t (properly) install the BIOS file. If I had to guess, gpSP didn’t work and you used MGBA and that’s what is slow. Put the BIOS file in there and use gpSP. I think you’ll see a big improvement.

Also, with the Zero, some people get s lot of slowdown with WiFi connected. Try using the WiFi kill script that’s installed in the RetroPie menu.

Hey thanks for getting back so fast!!!! I  think you're right i went into the rom settings and it was using MGBA so i changed to gpSP and it doesnt load it(im guessing) it crashes back to the rom selector  and that it is it.  Is there any fourm post or tut you could give me so i could fix the bios setting? also i use wifi to interact with the pi so rip.

Are you using Window, Mac, or Linux? The ZIP file will contain 1 or more other files. Often, you could just double-click on it to unzip it. It depends on what operating system you're using what sort of application you want to use. You could try right-clicking on it to see what your options are. If you have the correct file, then there should be a BIN file inside of it.
