WS Flash Masta v4.4 (early adopter version)
I bought this cart months ago and in-game save worked well.Wink

But a week ago I found that the game saves are gone.Huh

I have been playing the 'Super Robot Taisen Compact' and I'm sure that the game supports in-game save with Flash Masta.

After that I tested some games with save fixed(to SRAM) and all of their save didn't work.(Game saved well but after power-off and power-on they are gone)Sad

What happened to my cart? The cart is not physically damaged.

Does the battery on board affect the save function?

I want to know possible reasons..

Yes, the battery definitely controls the save function. I wonder if there's some way that your battery died. That would be quite odd.

Also, it is worth knowing that the save area is shared across all the ROM slots. So, if you play ROM1, save, play ROM2, then ROM2 may overwrite ROM1's save. That doesn't sound like what you described, however.

I wonder if there's some way that the cart was stored in a way that the battery shorted out or something. Do you have a good way to test the battery's voltage?

I have been loving your flash cart as it has allowed this American to play his favorite translations and games I have been missing out on.

One thing I cannot seem to overcome is the ability to load my backed up saves. I choose backup save and on. Both slot zero and the actual game slot and have no errors when backing up.

However when I restore save they do not load when I boot the game back up

My example game would be final fantasy II

I would say the most likely reason is you may have loaded another game which allocates its save to SRAM on boot up immediately and overwrites.

I have a 2 year old who accidentally loaded rockman and forte and it nuked my ff2 save (again)

I will look into your other issue, but one workaround (for this) is to just load a single ROM in the first slot (instead of the menu). Then you can't choose other slots (which may write to the SRAM).

So Juhn did his tests with the GoodWSX3.14 set but there is a 3.27 set now. Anyone has tested/could test if these games and eeprom patches still don't work ? Especially interesting to know since it's gonna back in stock soon.

Hi, just got a WS Flash Masta, but can't install the USB drivers with Zadig for some reason.
The LED lights up and it shows up as "Unknown Device" (with a USB ID of 0000 0000) in Zadig, but none of the drivers will install.

Tried unplugging it and replugging it about 20 times, and also used two of the USB hubs I have on hand, but nothing worked.

edit: Got it working by trying some other USB cables, sorry for any trouble!
