Can I do a safe shutdown using the power switch on the gameboy advance zero build? It doesnt seem to shutdown, only when I shutdown using retropie.

In the zero build image I do see a shutdown py script in the freeplay folder.

The other day it got stuck on that info screen just before the game loads. And I wans't able to do anything to exit out of it or shutdown the gameboy. I ended up pulling the batteries out.

Thanks
Kevin.

ps.: I ordered the CM3 version yesterday, can't wait to build that one next year Smile I like the zero build, it's my first build ever, but it's lacking performance. I tried ngpc and 32x but it lags a bit, specially the audio. I only installed cardridge based games as I figured those would run the smoothest.

Update: When it's just booted up I could shut it down holding power switch for 4 sec. Seems like when its running for a while something in the background crashes or a emulator crashes and the power switch isn't registering anymore.

The NGPC emulator is known to be on the slow side.  I'd like to actually work on the code for it, but I don't know when I can get time for that.  If I recall correctly, it works nicely on the CM3.

It should always work to hold the power for 5-10 seconds and power down.  I have seen cases where you need to hold it a bit longer, but it is odd that the script would crash.

You are right that the shutdown is a script that runs in the background.  It is conceivable that it is getting locked up or crashing for some reason, but I don't think I've encountered that, myself.
