Pre-Built Images
#1
Hi All,

The image that is pre-made for the CM3 is great and all but, there are people who have designed some pretty sick stuff out there.  Ed was great enough to provide a link on how to install all the scripts separately but, I am not talented enough to understand how to follow the guide.

Is there anyone out there who can provide a simple tutorial on how to get the CM3 working with another image I have already flashed to an SD card?

For reference here is the link Ed sent me:

Cheers!

At some point down the road, I would like to try to make this a bit easier for people. For now, we probably just have to hope that people come along and take what's available and apply it to the any other operating systems.

As a bit of added information (or maybe motivation), there are 3 main pieces that need to be added to a Raspbian-based image to work with the Freeplay Zero/CM3
https://github.com/TheFlav/Freeplay-Support (mostly configuration items and support for the following drivers)
https://github.com/TheFlav/rpi-fbcp (to get the built-in LCD working)
https://github.com/TheFlav/mk_arcade_joystick_rpi (to get the built-in buttons working)

Each of those repositories should have an install.sh script to build and/or install the proper pieces. I hope that helps.

Would be great if someone could build one of these SNES or NES Classic based themed images I've been seeing around! I feel like that would be a perfect match for the Freeplay Zero and CM3.

I have heard that there is a Game Wizard image built for the Freeplay Zero. You could try that to see if it offers the features you're looking for.
