Wi-Fi / Bluetooth dongle not working
#1
Hello everyone,
My first post of many hopefully, but I've run into an issue with my dongle that I've plugged into my CM3. The bluetooth works fine with the keyboard,  but for whatever reason, I cant get the wifi to work. I tried setting up the language and keyboard, but it still ain't giving me the option to input the ssid and password or gives me an error when performing a search. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What Bluetooth and WiFi dongles are you using?

What model are they? Are you using multiple dongles or a single that does BT&WiFi? I could never get the Edimax WiFi+BT dongle that I've tried to work.

EW-7611ULB is the model I have. It is a single that is supposed to do both. Should I try a different brand?

Yes, that is also the one that I have (that I could not get to work). Sadly, I haven't heard from anyone else that has a different WiFi+BT USB adapter that works in Raspbian.

The Edimax that we really like is the EW-7881UN.
We also like the EDUP EP-N8508GS.
We have them available here: https://www.freeplaytech.com/product/edi...i-adapter/
These do not include BT.

How about loading and saving states? Tried select and r trigger and l trigger.

It would only be SELECT if you set that up as your hotkey. You can set it up from the main menu by hitting START and then CONFIGURE INPUTS.

Try to tap/release the power button and then R or L. By default, the Freeplay power button is set up as a hotkey toggle.

It can also depend on the emulator. The 'lr-' (libretro) emulators will conform to whatever you set in the main menu.

just to follow up on this, I purchased the edimax, just wifi and it is still not working. I only recently got back on this project which is why I was not able to respond sooner. but, the wifi dongle is still not working. I am currently trying to the languages to see if that makes any changes. the bluetooth dongle (ONLY BLUETOOTH NOT WIFI) is working so that I can connect a keyboard to it. please help. I'm still not getting this right. tried .txt and .conf files as well. also running on 4.4.4

Hey adibmikey!  It took me a few days to get back to this, but I just went through imaging a new SD card and setting up WiFi.  I did this with a USB hub, so I'd have a keyboard and Edimax WiFi dongle plugged in at the same time.

I think, maybe, you have to set up the country first, now.  Check out my series of screenshots.  After that, a list of WiFi access points came up, and I was able to choose one and enter the password.
