Are we going to begin seeing new units shipped with CM3+ Lites?  I know they have better thermals and power management.  Is that enough to swap the current CM3 with the 3+?

Is there an easy way (perhaps by visual inspection?) to tell if your board is the lite one or not?

Yes,
Look at the back of the Compute Module, is there is only one chip on the left side and a empty BGA on the right, this is the Lite version.

When you buy a CM3 Kit, the Compute Module is included.
