I use this dongle successfully with my 8bitdo sn30 pro https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B009ZIILLI/ -- I'm still figuring out how to auto-connect reliably (it's a bit hit or miss), but if you go into the bluetooth menu and select the controller it always works perfectly. It does seem to completely disable the built in buttons on that note (including the hotkey) so if you turn the controller off before shutting the unit down you might have to manually power off via shutdown script by holding the hotkey slider for a few seconds.
If you do get the wifi adapter, I'd recommend not upgrading system packages as that broke the built in buttons for me-- it's great for upgrading other components, transferring games, backing up saves and making tweaks like setting up the no sleep full screen driver though.
