How to work with SD card partition?

If not : https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Wifi
'raspi-config' can be found in Retropie menu.
If this doesn't work, a possibility is a false contact on Compute Module.
I think Flavor did post a "how to" video about this but I don't know where it is on the forum :S

I've set the country and time zone, and I still get the "No Wlan0 interface detected" when I try to set up WiFi. I know that the Wifi works, because I'm using my computer right now. The WiFi dongle also has a green light that turns on when I plug it in, so I don't think that's broken either.

When the dongle is plugged on the device, does the dongle blink or just stay steady?
If it is always on from the very time you plugged it, that could just be the sign of a false contact between the compute module and its socket.
I will quote Flavor from this post : https://forum.freeplaytech.com/showthrea...45#pid8845
Quote:Remove the Raspberry Pi Compute Module from the circuit board. Look at the contacts where it inserts into the socket. See if you can tell anything odd. Maybe wipe it with isopropyl alcohol if you have some. Insert the Compute Module back into the Freeplay CM3. Does this change anything?

His video could also help : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn_pFBwEQxA

When I plug the dongle in, it will blink once and then the light turns off. It just stays steady. I don't think it's a false contact between the compute module and its socket. I accidentally bought 2 WiFi dongles and both of them do the same thing, and I get the same error for both of them so I don't think the dongles are faulty.

Are you plugging these directly into the Freeplay CM3 or are you using a USB hub?

The best info we could get on this is to run
lsusb
when the WiFi dongle is connected.  Unfortunately, if you're not using a hub, there's not a good way to run that.

You could try this.
- Boot the machine and then way 10 seconds or so.
- Plug in the USB dongle and wait 10 seconds.
- Unplug in the USB dongle and wait 10 seconds.
- Plug in a keyboard.
- Hit F4.
- Type the following command and then hit enter.
dmesg
- Hold the shift key and hit the PAGEUP button twice (to scroll up 2 pages)
- Take a photo of the screen (even better to get a photo of the TV if HDMI is plugged in).
- Hold the shift key and hit the PAGEDOWN button once (to scroll down 1 page)
- Take a photo of the screen (even better to get a photo of the TV  if HDMI is plugged in).
- Hold the shift key and hit the PAGEDOWN button once (to scroll back to the bottom)
- Take a photo of the screen (even better to get a photo of the TV  if HDMI is plugged in).

Here's a screenshot that shows the USB device being plugged in.  I took it using the above process.  Notice where it says "New USB device found" and the idProduct=7811.  That's the WiFi dongle.  Not too long after that, it realizes it's a WLAN adapter by Realtek (the chip manufacturer).

I actually do have a USB hub, so I ran lsusb and got the following.

Are you always using the hub? Did you try connecting it directly (without the hub)? Is the hub powered itself? I wonder if the hub pulls too much power from the Freeplay CM3.

I've tried connecting to WiFi with and without the hub, each time I get the same "No Wlan0 interface detected" error. I've tried it sitting right next to the router, so I know it's not that I'm too far away. I've set the country and time zone.

By the way, the screenshot I posted was with an Edimax adapter. With the Edup, my lsusb (through a powered hub) looks just like yours for the WiFi adapter.

What does your screen look like if you run the following commends (separately)?
iwconfig
ifconfig

With the WiFi and keyboard on the hub, you can also do these...

sudo raspi-config
- I don't remember exactly, but it's like Networking/WiFi and then you set the country and then your SSID and password.

Then, run
sudo /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh
- Then Configuration/WiFi
- Then what does it show at the top of the screen? If you select CONNECT, does it show a list of WiFi routers?

Yeah, I have the Edup adapter. Here are the screens for those commands. (With the dongle plugged into the usb hub)
