FlashMasta WS Cartridge red light flashing/not connecting to computer
#1
I recently ordered/received my FlashMasta WS cart and was able to update the Menu ROM and load things onto it without any issue. In fact, the cartridge still works in my WonderSwan and can save/load without issue.

However, when I try to plug it into my computer, the red light flashed a few times before going off, and the application couldn't detect it... I'm not sure what's going on. I've tried multiple USB ports, and Zadig and Device Manager can't detect it either.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?

Hey Variant. I'm sorry that I missed your post before.

Can you post a screenshot/video of this behavior. I want to be sure that I understand it.

When you plug it in, if the red light flashes, the cartridge knows that it's connected to USB. I'm not quite sure why your computer doesn't know the same.

In Zadig, there's an option to show ALL devices. If you use that, what does the list look like?

Do you have a USB hub? If you're using one, try connecting directly. If you're not using one, try using one (if it's convenient).

Try different USB cables. We have found that some people have micruUSB cables that ONLY charge. We have also found that some cheap USB cables that should work fine will give power but the USB lines are bad. In fact, this is probably the #1 thing that fixes it for most people.

Try that stuff and post back here.

It's actually pretty interesting that this seems to be more and more prevalent.  I wonder why.  Are cables failing or are there lots of cables that only charge (and were not meant for data)?
