Didn't see this posted here yet, but there is a CM3 pin compatible CM4 module coming.

BCM2711 and 1GB of LPDDR5 on the existing Freeplay!

Hopefully they will make this available to order for end users.

I actually think there is another thread about this, but whatever. I have been looking into this for a while. Even before Jeff’s video came out, there was some evidence that this might be some thing that was coming out in the future. The problem is that Raspberry Pi themselves have not announced anything, as far as I know. Until that happens I don’t think we have enough information to go on. But on the other hand it looks very likely that this will be real and, if there is a Lite model, it would probably work well. I would only be concerned about the battery life, but we won’t know that until we test it.

The normal cm4 is 7 watts peak, but the 4s lacks PCIe and usb3, so that could save same power. Might be possible to get down to 4 watts like the 3+ without too much performance lose. The die string should give some good gains.

I'm really hoping that there can be some significant power savings between CM4 and CM4S. We'll have to wait and see, I guess.
