Neo Geo 3D! by Leonard of Oxygene

Video
Saw this posted a secind ago on Pouet's Twitter. It's a Neo Geo [not Pocket] demo which you can run on both the arcade hardware or Neo Geo CD. Or on an emulator, which might be the easiest way.

Edit: Someone was nice enough to make a video, so here it is. Nothing out of the ordinary [as far as graphics go, but I do understand doing this on a Neo Geo isn't easy]. Raster bars, a vector cube and a scroller, plus a nice chiptune [Atari ST YM!].

NICE!

Though, I have to admit that I thought your post was NGPC at first, so I was even more excited for a moment.

This month alone we got a new demo for the Neo Geo and one for Vectrex, so who knows? A new one for Neo Geo Pocket might be in the works somewhere. Seems like it's the forgotten platform season.

By the way, does anyone in here know which check is performed by NeoRageX before the ROM is loaded? I patched CRC32 checksums of both rom images and the zip file to match those of Puzzle De Pon, but it wouldn't run it. I know MAME does the MD5 check as well, but you can still force the demo to run, by starting it from the command line. You'll get the checksum warning, but it will boot it anyway.

Btw is the "mode 7" effect possible for the NGPC? I saw footage of the Atari Lynx doing it so I wondered if it could be possible, hopefully without draining procecessing power or memory.

Some code would be nice, if anyone can find it. I might find it usefull for future projects. Thanks in advance.

Anything is possible. Similar effect is used for ground perspective in Neo Poke Kun, in the final minigame. If I remember correctly, the buildings in the background move as well.

Oh cool, that's good to hear. I might look into using mode 7 for a future project once I get a new computer.

I've never played NeoPoke Kun, but your screen shots look really cool. It seems like a zany and fun game. I'll give it a try one day.
