Hello! I just got my flashmasta and I’m having an issue on my IPS modded WSC. Every time I boot the console it goes to the bios and then shows a white screen after I exit. The cart works just fine on my Swan Crystal and it seems as though every game on the WSC causes it to boot through the bios, where you can name the console, input birthday, etc, before booting to the game. However, only the flash masta displays a white screen that I can’t get past. Any help would be deeply appreciated!

hello! I am a WS FLASHMASTA user.

Inquiries are also about save slots.

I took a good opportunity and received a 3D printed version of WS FLASHMASTA as a gift from an acquaintance.

She had previously bought 2 FLASHMASTA and gave one to me as they never used it.

This is the gist.

I know from a search that there are 16 game slots on WS FLASHMASTA, but only 1 save slot.

So, I put Super Robot Wars Compact as a game to save. In addition, one-time games such as Pocket Fighter, Mr. Driller, and Magical Drop were added.

The problem is, when I play another game and turn on Super Robot Wars again, the save disappears.

Perhaps it was saved because of rank registration after clearing the game.

So, do I have to connect FLASHMASTA to PC to back up my saves every time I try to play another game?

Is there any way to back up and restore saves in WS?

I have a cheap Chinese flashcart for the Game Boy that automatically backs up previous saves and restores the saves of the game to playing when l start another game.

If automation is not possible, at least I want to back up my saves without connecting to a PC. I think FLASHMASTA is very good. There must be a way.

I'm curious how the names are assigned to game ROMs on the cartridge.

I noticed that in the PC software anything unusual/unofficial is just shown as 'Unknown'. All official games seem to show up with their proper names, but anything with a translation or SRAM patch applied is mostly 'Unknown'. I initially assumed the software has a table with checksum->name and can't recognize anything that has been patched, translated, romhacked etc., but in the menu on the actual WS all the names seem correct, even the patched/translated games etc. How can it be that the menu on the console knows all the proper ROM names but the PC software doesn't? I found only one game name that shows up incorrect: 'Uchuu Senkan Yamato' is 'LastStand' (totally different game for the WS) for some reason in the console menu. Game seems to play fine, though.

Is there any way to manually enter/correct names?

Thanks!

The pins on the link cable are so far out on the end that they're completely overshooting the contacts in the communication port. Unseating it slightly solves the problem:
Don't be dissuaded from purchasing a FlashMasta on the grounds of the communication port not working. It works just fine as long as the cable is doing its job (plus, I'm not certain link communications even pass through the cartridge).

Just received my Flash Masta, and it's working great except for with Fire Lancer (all of the demo versions I've been able to find).

The picture is offset so missing almost half of it (photo attached).

All other games display properly, so not sure what's happening here. Any ideas? I do have the new LCD mod, but as I say all other games are fine.

Thanks for any help!

I've had the Flashmasta for a few months now and have noticed several games getting corrupted when transitioning between scenes and have had save files completely removed after the corruption. When I say corruption I mean severe graphic distortion with no recovery except power cycling. Is this common for other users? I'm using the no-intro set and programming over linux. My battery is fresh during these issues, about 70%.

Hello! Needless to say I'm loving my english patched games on the flashmasta, but I can't help to wonder if there's any chance to play all my games on the go without loosing the save.
Most flash carts on other systems do fancy automated saves swap, but I think we'd all be fine with just a manual way to handle saves from the current menu system within the cart itself.
I know this is the nichest product ever, but we got this far and now it'd be so nice to get just this extra feature to make this product pretty much perfect!

Thanks!

I purchased two of the new WonderSwan FlashMastas when they were in stock last week, for the purpose of doing some R&D work. They arrived today and work fine in my WonderSwan Color, but they do not appear to function in the classic black-and-white WonderSwan. They just show a screen filled with black pixels.

I'm borrowing a friend's WonderSwan to get homebrew development off the ground, and it does work on the B/W model. I understand that the units from this last batch were a different revision, v5.2, and the one from my friend is v5.1. Did something change in the revision that broke or removed compatibility with the black-and-white WonderSwan?

It might be something that I can fix on my end, in which case I'm open to ideas. I have a support ticket open about it, but if someone knows what's going on, that would help get things resolved and make everyone's lives easier. Thanks in advance!
