Similar boat here. Waiting on a CM3 with the L2R2 add-on, but I might hold off on adding that and see instead how this and the boxypixel pan out.

If I do. I'm not sure I'll be able to last the 3-10 days until all my stuff arrived.

That L2 R2 experiment looks great! Are you thinking of shipping it with the option of having the buttons pre-mounted?

I'm not sure. It's better to solder them on once the board is in place, AND you'd have to solder the board to the main board anyway.
Or, do you mean to ask if there will be an option to have this board pre-soldered to the main board. If things go well, I think that may become an option, but that will require some more testing and likely a new board revision.
