Sound not working new build

Hi bezidebela!

The most likely problem that first comes to mind is that something in/around the speaker, volume wheel, headphone jack area is shorting out. Are you using an aluminum shell? If so, it's even more likely to be the problem.

The speaker itself should have had a round foam dot stuck to the back of it. This adds insulation between the speaker and anything else on the circuit board that it could come in contact with.

Next, (particularly on a metal shell) you should be snipping off any protruding pins on the backside of the volume wheel and headphone jack.

You will, obviously, need to open the shell to check those things. Test the sound with the shell open to see if that helps the issue.

If there is pressure on the volume wheel, it can also cause the audio to cut out.

Let us know how that works. Maybe post some photos from that area if the problem persists.
