Configuring game pad
#1
I'm have trouble configuring the game pad in retropie, when ever I get to setting the hotkey it freezes and won't go any further. I set the hotkey as not defined and it comes up with asking if i want to set the hotkey as select, yes or no. And it won't let me press ether. If I try to set the hotkey my self it won't even let me press ok.

Is there a  chance that it actually isn’t locked up and it is just taking a really really long time? I found that the end of that process sits there and looks like it’s dead for way too long and then it just works fine.

Also, if you want to actually set the hot key to the power button, just tap the power button twice quickly when it asks what you want to set the hotkey to.

Anyway, for me, whatever it does at the end of setting up the keys takes forever to actually write the configuration files, and it looks like it’s doing nothing while that happens.

I waited and it just went back to the beginning. Double tapping the power button does let me set it. But  it still won't let me press ok.

What do you mean by back to the beginning?

Sorry. I don’t mean to be quick with my replies, but I’m just using the phone (not my laptop like I normally would).

By the way, are you trying to reconfigure the built in controller or are you trying to set up a new USB controller?

It goes back to asking if I want to configure input. But I did it again and this time it went back to the menu, so I think it worked this time.

That's fine, I like that your quick to reply.

The built in controller. Sorry i'm very new at this stuff, this is my first time using retropie and raspberry pies in general. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to add games. I'm using a USB stick and this tutorial https://youtu.be/LaVQYURWVEQ

I put a few games in the roms folder then plugged the USB stick into in the raspberry pie. But I rebooted and none of the emulators have shown up
