I worked with the guy that did the Portuguese version, and we added these special characters.

The Spanish language has some special characters other than Portuguese, but could be a good starting point.

If you can help me adding these special Spanish characters to the ROM, or maybe explain me how to do it (I've programming knowledge with JavaScript, Ruby and other programming language for the web), then I'd start the translation.

It can also be a good idea get into contact with the other spanish guy who started the translation, and ask him about the status of the project.
